The Gathering

That is what they call our church annual retreat at the Webster Center in Salina.  It is a revival of sorts. We meet with congregations in the Western Plains District for uplifting sessions, really cool preaching and singing, and the kids and older youth have things going on too.
This year I took Akyra with me.  She reeaalllyyy had a great time, and she was very good. It turned out to be a pretty weekend.
I met a really neat lady named Carol Mason who inspired me alot. She was a missionary in Nigeria and her husband Ralph was killed in a horrific car accident while they were there. She was a very dynamic speaker and I just really connected with her.
I saw Cheryl Mishler who holds a special place in my heart. Akyra took to her very fast too, as most people do. She has a beautiful voice and she helped Akyras group sing.  Just had a great weekend. Here are some pictures.

Akyra chattering with our roommates and on our walk in the woods.

It was a wonderful weekend and Akyra must have thanked me ten times for taking her. I think it did her good to have some one on one and a non-stressful weekend.

Blessings,
Lynn
